B.SP.Ex (Massey, NZ - pending), B.Bus (SpEv, Griffith Aus), Fitness Cert. III, IV (AIF, Aus), Exercise Physiologist
Lauren is our Australian Exercise Physiologist having made her home in Wellington. Her interest in exercise began as a young representative tennis player for Queensland and NSW. She had ambitions to one day be involved with organising tennis events and eventually started her first degree in business, majoring in sport and event management at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. In the final year of this degree she completed a certificate in personal training and group exercise through the Australian Institute of Fitness. Lauren then spent 18 months in London working as a personal trainer. Through this experience she developed a strong interest in helping people with health challenges. This lead her into a second bachelor’s degree, this time in exercise physiology through the Queensland University of Technology. After completing two years of this degree she transferred to Massey University and is now in the final stages. Studies at Massey will continue into a masters degree for Lauren, majoring in exercise prescription and training. She plans to focus her research towards her passion of helping older clients and exercise rehabilitation. In the meantime she continues her own exercise interests in crossfit, tennis, running, and escaping back to the Gold Coast when possible.
