Richard Trendle

Richard has a unique combination of skills, qualifications and experience that enables him to assist a wide range of clients from those with chronic and complex pain syndromes to corrective exercise intervention for athletes.

Richard’s qualifications in combination with his twelve years experience of clinical practice in injury rehabilitation enable him to provide high quality, outcome-focussed services to his clients.  Richard’s qualifications include:

  • Masters degree in Pain Management (Edinburgh School of Medicine, Scotland, 2008)

  • Specialist Work Conditioning and Work Hardening Certificate (Matheson Institute, USA 2008)

  • Corrective Exercise Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine, USA, 2007)

  • Postgraduate studies in Ergonomics (Massey University)

  • Quantitative Job Demands Analysis (Ergo-science, USA, 2000)

  • B.Ph.Ed. (Otago University,1996)

Richard has gained extensive clinical experience in both New Zealand and overseas.  Working previously at Wellness Consultants, for the past seven years Richard successfully established a rehabilitation clinic inside a popular UK gym chain working with a variety of private clients and contracting to insurance companies.  Richard has now returned to Wellington and is contracting into Bodylab to provide rehabilitation services alongside Brendan.

The services Richard provides utilise best practice techniques in injury rehabilitation and pain management, including:

  • Corrective exercise programming

  • Behavioural change

  • Client education regarding pain management strategies and body mechanics

Richard is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain, the New Zealand Pain Society and the Physiotherapy Pain Association (UK).
