Joanne Williams

Jo is our registered Physiotherapist with specialist skills in Occupational Health.  She also has a Masters Degree in Health Science (Rehabilitation) from Otago University.  Jo has specialised in work and exercise rehabilitation since 1996.

She has recently moved to Wellington from the Bay of Plenty after spending the last 4.5 years fulfilling contracts with ACC and private employers.  These included Activity Based Programs; Workplace assessment; Graduated Return to Work Programs.   Most of these programs include education and advice on pain management strategies.  She carries out Functional Capacity Evaluations (including Task Specific) as she trained in the Physical Work Performance Evaluation (FCE) in 1998.  She has also run training and education seminars on manual handling, stress and fatigue management and general injury prevention and wellness at work.   

Her passion is the importance of utilizing objective measures of functions and work tasks in order to make safe and viable return to work decisions.  She strives to help people achieve a higher level of functional ability and a return to independence through increased levels of appropriate activity and self management strategies.
