Lung function testing with a spirometer as seen in the photo is recommended for all smokers over the age of 45 and in any person presenting with shortness of breath, chronic cough, wheezing, or excessive mucus production. This is a simple and non-invasive test that can be performed easily. Results from the test can be used in the early identification of patients at risk of both restrictive (lung volume issues) and obstructive (flow issues) before symptoms develop.
We also use this information to recommend whether lung function training is necessary with our Spirotiger system. Find out more by clicking on the Spirotiger button.
The lung function test takes less than 15 minutes and no preparation is needed.
